Artist statement

Jill Matthews is a dedicated glass artist specialising in glass fusing, where she finds immense joy in transforming sheet glass into tactile and aesthetic artworks. Inspired by the versatility of glass, from transparency to opalescence, she has recently embraced working with reclaimed glass, infusing her creations with new life and purpose. Jill’s favourite part of her work is opening the kiln, experiencing the thrill of seeing how the glass has melted and if it has behaved as she envisioned.
