Artist statement
Funky George Ceramics is the practice of Georgia Praat, begun in 2021 while studying Spatial Design at AUT and now based in Mōkau. Her work is defined by hand-built mugs and forms, each carefully crafted and layered with her signature checkerboard glaze. Guided by intuition and inspiration from nature, fashion, and graphic design, her evolving practice embraces experimentation and process-led making.
