Persion Silk Tree Spatula From Te Awamutu – Jeff Fryett
$60.00
Persian Silk Tree Spatula from Te Awamutu
Light, strong, and beautifully balanced, this hand-carved spatula celebrates the natural beauty of Persian Silk Tree timber. With its warm colouring and distinctive grain, the wood is transformed by Jeff Fryett into a practical kitchen tool using only traditional hand tools — an axe, sloyd knife, and hook knife. Each spatula is carefully shaped to feel comfortable in the hand, making everyday cooking a pleasure.
The surface is burnished with a smooth river pebble and sealed with a food-safe curing oil, bringing out the timber’s natural character while creating a silky finish that will continue to develop with use.
Ideal for stirring, sautéing, and serving, this handcrafted spatula is made to be used daily, combining thoughtful design with the timeless appeal of handcrafted New Zealand woodwork.
