Grubbs are found in a secret forest near Auckland by Jed Seward, who captures them with either clever contractual fine print or his trusty butterfly net. Sparce data exists on Jed himself with rumours circulating that he is just several Grubbs standing on each others shoulders in a trench coat with a hat and dark glasses, that he is a rouge rocket scientist on the run from the notoriously secret yet ruthless New Zealand space agency, or that he was possibly just raised by wolves
