Artist Statement

Charlotte Waugh is a Matamata-based artist and steampunk enthusiast who intricately crafts whimsical works where Victorian industrialism meets the beauty of insects and sea life. Influenced by her father’s antique restoration workshop, she blends nostalgia with innovation, using pigment liners and shellac on watercolour paper to create art that bridges history, nature, and imagination.
