About the Artist

Ellen Giggenbach was born in Bavaria, Germany, and now lives in the seaside village of Eastbourne, New Zealand. After studying Graphic Art in Vienna, she earned a New Zealand Diploma with Distinction in Design. Her work draws on European folk art, her natural surroundings, and a love of mid-century colour and form — each piece built up like a puzzle until the balance feels just right. The result: art that’s vibrant yet sophisticated, intuitive yet precise.
