Artist Statement
Helen Jean is a self-taught artist based in Kerikeri, who began her artistic journey as a potter before expanding into oil painting and sculpture. Her love of gardens inspires her work, with large fruit sculptures and playful, oversized objects. Helen’s paintings often feature quirky subjects like giant apples and paintbrushes, spilling out of their frames in 3D.
