Artists statement
Juliet was a New Plymouth artist who made one-off ceramic sculptures and functional ware, using hand-built and/or wheel techniques. She made pottery for over 20 years. She learned how to throw on the wheel while living in Tochigi-ken, Japan, for two years while teaching English. She mostly worked with stoneware clay fired in an electric kiln using a variety of glazes she mixed herself.
