Artist statement
Storm Davenport is a sculptor who works primarily with clay, often incorporating wood, metal, and glass to create both large outdoor Totems and intimate indoor or wall-mounted pieces. Her work explores the beauty of imperfection, celebrating the asymmetrical, aged, and worn qualities of people and objects, inviting viewers to touch and engage with her creations. Based in Paraparaumu Beach, Storm experiments with locally sourced New Zealand clay and shares her work from her Mahana Rd Studio, open by appointment and during the Kāpiti Coast Arts Trail.
