This print is part of a newly released Te Papa series of large-format giclée prints, produced close to the scale of the original paintings by leading New Zealand artists.
A graduate of Elam School of Fine Arts (1968), White quickly gained recognition for her portraits of cultural figures such as poet Sam Hunt and her vivid depictions of rural New Zealand life. During the 1970s, her work celebrated the vitality of small-town and counter-culture communities, before she expanded into printmaking and textiles during her time in the Pacific.
