Artist statement

Frances Hanson has been working with glass for more than 17 years. She has received many awards for both her sculptural art glass pieces as well as glass and sterling silver jewellery. Simplicity is at the forefront of Hanson’s design process, with the artist favouring universal shapes such as the disc, teardrop and oval. Subject matter for her pieces comes from New Zealand flora and fauna, natural cycles and seasons.
