Artists statement

Juliet is a New Plymouth artist, making one-off ceramic sculptures and functional ware, using hand-built and/or wheel techniques. She has made pottery on and off for the past 20 years. She learned how to throw on the wheel while living in Tochigi-ken, Japan, for two years while teaching English. She mostly works with stoneware clay fired in an electric kiln using a variety of glazes she mixes herself.
